Hope Chest

Looking for a way to make a difference in the community this Christmas season? Consider helping support the Hope Community Center's annual "Hope Chest" event.

Specific ways we can help:

Help spread the word- forward this below paragraph about the event to your church, bible study groups, play groups, friends, neighborhood associations...ect.

Clean Out and Give- clean out your house and make room for incoming Christmas gifts. don't forget coats, hats, gloves, scarves, sweaters, blankets, boots, toys and any cold weather clothing. Also furniture and ANY household items.

Cook food/donate drinks/bring snacks- there will be volunteers there from Dec 5-17th, pretty much all day. Just drop the food off at Hope and the volunteers will eat it.

Volunteer- this event can only work if we have lots of volunteers. we will need about 100 volunteers on the 18th and about 10-15 per day leading up to the 18th. it is kid friendly so bring the kids, grab a friend and come fold/organize clothing for families who need it. I will send out dates/times of when MOPS (or bible study) moms will be there volunteering.

"Hope Chest" – this annual clothing, toy and furniture giveaway will take place at the Hope Community Center on Saturday, December 18 from 8 am - noon. The event is open to the public but is specifically to benefit low income and refugee families this holiday season. Donations of gently used clothing, toys, furniture and ANY household items are being accepted at Hope from December 5th-16th. (Please see the website at www.hopecommunitycenter.org for daily hours).

Hope is located at 341 11th St. NW, C’ville. There is also a need for volunteers to help with collections, organization and running of the event from December 5th-18th. Businesses are welcome and encouraged to sponsor the event. Activities include children’s games, music and fun for the whole family.
