Meeting Recap - September 15th, 2011

Our first meeting of 2011-2012 was held today and it was a great time of food, fun and fellowship!  First we enjoyed a delicious breakfast while we got acquainted with our new tables.  We welcomed many new moms and got to catch up with friends from last year!

Lauren Byrne, our MOPS Coordinator, introduced our table leaders, MOPS Mentors, and Steering Committee.  We have a new table this year for MOMS Next, a group for moms of older children.  August and September birthdays were announced, moms with new babies and pregnant moms were congratulated!  Nany Ryalls, MOPS Mentor and our Childcare Coordinator, talked to us about Moppetts childcare.  She mentioned that a fire drill is planned during Moppetts sometime in November.

We heard announcements from each of our Steering Committee Members.  We then played a "Guess Who" game where each member of the Steering Committee wrote one item of interest about themselves on a card.  Jenn Coon read the cards and our MOPS moms tried to guess which Committee member it was.  We had a bowler, an appearance in Seventeen magazine, and tattooed eyeliner.  Do you remember which was which?

A skit was presented showing the many seasons moms can be in.  Finally we had some extra time at the end of meeting to socialize with friends!  It was a wonderful way to start off our MOPS year!
