'Tis (Almost) The Season

It's never too early to start checking people off of your Christmas list, or is it?

Martha's Market is right around the corner and is the perfect opportunity to find unique gifts in one spot.  The Market, organized by The Women's Committee of Martha Jefferson Hospital, brings together more than 65 boutiques from across the country.  Items ranging from jewelry and clothing to gourmet food and home decor will be on display at the John Paul Jones Arena from Friday, Oct. 21, through Sunday, Oct. 23.  Proceeds from the event help the Women's Committee support many facets of women's healthcare with the primary emphasis on breast health.

Win a chance for a weekend shopping pass for yourself and a friend by leaving a comment.  Let us know if you have started your Christmas shopping or if you prefer to wait for it to "feel" more like Christmas and who is the hardest person for you to shop for each year.

The winner will be selected randomly and will be announced at the next MOPS meeting.

Congrats to our winner, Nicole J.! Thanks to all who entered.  Check back soon for our next contest!

  1. I'm ready to kick things off with a visit to Martha's Market. It's been a fun way to find some special and unique things in years past without having to drive all over town.

  2. Guess I'll go first. The past few years we have prepared shoeboxes through Operation Christmas Child in honor of family members. We take pics of KE putting the boxes together and make a card for everyone. That way we are spending money on others who need it more than we do rather than buying gifts they don't really "need". I start collecting boxes and supplies in the summer so in November we're ready to stuff.

My hubbs is definitely the hardest person to shop for!

  3. I love Martha's market! I have already bought the big gifts for Caleb and Eveley (because I found a great deal!) and for my hubby. But I save most of my shopping for the actual season because I LOVE the ambiance. :)

  4. I've never been to Martha's Market, but I'm going to check it out this year! Typically, I wait to do my holiday shopping until the stores put out their Christmas displays...I like the "feel" of Christmas, but with a very wiggly child who, understandably, doesn't want to spend too much time in the shops I think I need to start early!

  5. I'd love to kick off my Christmas shopping at Martha's Market. It has been a fun way to do that the last few years. Plus, I have found some really unique gifts without having to drive all over town.

  6. I usually start shopping in November. I've never been to Martha's Market but it looks like fun! My husband is the hardest to shop for by far.

  7. Yes, I have started Christmas shopping yeah!! I am not a fan of the franctic last minute search for gifts, so I am starting way early this year. This is the first I have heard of Martha's Market, and I am looking forward to it.
