November 3 MOPS Meeting Theme: Education

The theme of our November 3 meeting is "Education".  We will be having a panel discussion on educational choices.  Do you have any "burning" questions regarding your child's education?  Want to know the pros and cons of private school?  What a typical homeschool day looks like?  What special needs programs can be found in public schools?  Our panel will be taking questions and giving their perspective on the educational options available to us around Charlottesville.

So be thinking of those questions!  In the meantime, here are a few online resources to get you started:

The Organization of Virginia Homeschoolers

Albemarle County Public Schools

Charlottesville City Public Schools

Albemarle Family's Directory of Private Schools

Update:  If you already know of a question you would like to pose to the panel please send it to Jenn Coon.  Also, do you have a parenting reference book that you have found to be particularly helpful? We would love for you to bring it to our MOPS Meeting this week. We would like to have a table set up with these books for people to peruse during the meeting. It can be on any topic - discipline, potty training, sleep, reading, education in general, spiritual development, family traditions - you name it! Please be sure to label your book with your name on it so it can be returned to you.
