Meeting Recap - November 29th, 2012

Our November 29th meeting featured our Mentoring Moms Panel and a wonderful testimony from one of our own moms!  But first lets have some announcements!
Sarah Miracle
  • Our next meeting is on Thursday, December 13th.  We will be having a Christmas ornament exchange!  Be sure to bring one wrapped ornament to the meeting.
  • On Dec. 13th we will also have gift bags for our childcare workers.  You are welcome to bring a small gift or note of thanks/encouragement to include in your childcare worker's bag.
  • MOPS will be providing a Christmas dinner for the Young Lives group of Charlottesville; their annual dinner is on Monday, December 17th at 6pm at CFA.  Check your email for more details.
  • Many thanks to those of you who contributed food, money, and/or household goods to help to local families in need.  If you know of any other opportunities for us to serve please let us know!

We played our "Get to know you" game and found out a few interesting facts about some of our fellow mops:
  • Karen L. loves painting walls.
  • Karen over at the Orange table doesn't like chocolate.
  • Amber Y. is a history buff who adores pirates.
  • Jeanie once lived in Naples, Italy and gave birth to two of her kids there.
  • Jill only eats black raspberry jelly; no other jelly will do!
  • Wendy F. used to be a Crime Scene Investigator.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we shared some of the many things we are thankful for!  Some of these included: a nativity set for the kids, husbands coming home, healthy kids, spending time with family, jobs and homes, kids praising the Lord, potty training progress, siblings who love each other, prayed-for babies, being a mom, healthy and adorable babies, and donated breast milk to help a baby in need!  Thanks for sharing everyone.

Next up we heard from Sarah Miracle, who shared with us her amazing testimony of how God used a complete stranger in a grocery store to bring about her salvation!  A big thanks to Sarah for blessing us with your story.

Our Mentoring Moms Panel

Finally we heard from our panel of Mentoring Moms!  Nancy Ryalls, Ruth Wagner, Janice Perkins, and Gayle Trevillian were so kind to share with us their wisdom and life experience as wives and mothers.  If you missed this meeting and have a question be sure to find one of these ladies at your table this year.  Thanks so much Mentoring Moms!
