For our Valentine's Day MOPS meeting we made a cute craft to show some love to our families. But first we had some announcements!
- The Mom's Night Out for this month is bowling at Kegler Lanes in Charlottesville on February 27th! If you missed signing up please contact Karen L. (Yellow Canary table) for details.
- First Baptist Church is holding a Date Night on February 23rd. This is a video-driven date night put out by Focus On the Family. Click here for more details.

We were so blessed to hear from MOPS mom Connie Horan. Connie spoke to us about a book she read called, "The God Box". The author would write her needs on scraps of paper and put them in the box, to "give them to God". The author expressed how when she did this, she felt like she had "inhaled a problem and exhaled a prayer". Connie shared how she and her family have made their own God Box and how they have benefited from it, especially during some especially difficult times in their lives. Connie also shared the story of how God used a tragedy to lead her to sponsor a specific child, and how she considers this precious girl the "child of her heart". Many thanks to Connie for sharing with us!
Next Lauren handed out a door prize, a bag of Melissa R.'s favorite things! Congrats to the winner Elizabeth K!

We then played a Valentine's Day inspired game, where each table attempted to make the tallest stack of conversation hearts. The Green Parakeets and Yellow Canaries enjoyed a box of Girl Scout cookies as their prize.
Finally Laurie, our fearless Craft Coordinator, explained to us how to make a dry erase message board using scrapbook paper and a plastic frame. What a lovely way to to express some love to your family! Thanks so much to Laurie and those who donated supplies and tools.
Our next meeting is on February 28th! See you soon!
