The "favorite things" door prize was brought to us by Mentoring Mom Michelle Cox. Her bag included many useful items for written correspondence; thank you notes, pretty paper, and stamps.  Congrats to Sherry A. on winning the bag!  Anne B. and Allison P. each won a book also brought by Michelle.

In honor of Lauren losing her keys she gave away some cute key chains as door prizes; congrats to Brette, Laurie B., and Becky V.  Thanks Lauren! Way to make lemonade out of lemons!

We were honored to hear from MOPS mom Sheena McClean.  Sheena spoke to us about the circumstances that brought her to Charlottesville, and like many of us, it was her husband's job.  Life for Sheena and her family took an unexpected and unwelcome turn when her husband was sent overseas for several months.  Sheena was devastated to be without her husband in a new town with no friends or family, but through this trial Sheena told us, "I found Jesus again." She explained that God was her comforter and protector, and has even blessed her with many new friends.  Thanks so much for your inspiring words Sheena!

We then played a spirited game of "Purse Scavenger Hunt". Each table was given a list of items with a corresponding point value. Moms searched through their purses and the points were added up...congrats to the Orange table who won by just a few points!

Our next MOPS meeting is on October 24th, and we will be meeting in the Youth Fellowship Hall. Hope to see you there!
