Meeting Recap - November 20, 2014

It's hard to believe that we are already at this point in the year and that we only have ONE more meeting for the year! Our next meeting is December 11th and we will be having our annual ornament exchange to celebrate Christmas. Please bring a wrapped ornament for the ornament exchange. Also, please bring small gifts for Moppetts workers as a thank you for taking care of our babies. You will be able to put those in a bag at the beginning of our next meeting.

We have two MOPS moms who have needed to step down from Steering Committee due to personal reasons. Please be praying about who God has to fill these two positions, and pray about if that person is you! :) If you are interested, please let your table leader or Laurie Burke know. We need the following positions:

  • Creative position (craft) – in charge of creative activities and crafts (3 more remain for the year in MOPS)
  • Registration and Finance (contact table leader or Laurie Burke) – mainly a Fall position due to managing the waiting list and registration
Also, please pray for Amber Young going through a hard time and needs support in prayer. She faithfully prays for MOPS moms and keeps new moms fed after babies are born, so let's lift her up in her time of need!

The directory is now available for pick-up. Thank you to Sarah Edens for that serious labor of love.

Nancy Ryalls shared from Ephesians about what it means to be brave - dying to self so that Christ's life can come up from within us. She encouraged us to be brave by quoting scripture and putting our names in the verse: Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace you (MOPS Mama) have been saved through faith: and that not of yourselves (MOPS mamas), it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast."

Our amazing speaker, Lynsie of DinnerDivide, is a chef, blogger, and not to mention busy mother of five! She taught us how to cut our grocery bills in half by learning to shop sales, buy in bulk/freeze, and plan ahead. By using her tips, she took her grocery bill from $1200/month to $600/month!
Her plan is based on buying whole, clean foods and not processed foods. She only put things that were on sale in her cart (she shops at Harris Teeter) – she bought $500 worth of groceries for $250. You can find her at http://dinnerdivide.com.

Classes – minimum of 5 people, can come to your house - $25/class per person.
