September 17th Meeting and other fun stuff!

Hey sweet ladies!

Just wanted to say how thankful I am that each of you are part of our MOPS group at FBC Charlottesville this year!  I hope you had a great time at the first meeting and if you missed it, here's a little recap:

Thankful for mamas with creative gifts! (Painted signs by Gina, all photos by Sarah Edens)

We started the morning with a delicious breakfast provided by our Leadership Team (Steering, Table Leaders and Mentor Moms).  Thanks ladies!

Turn your crumbs into Feasts and moments into Celebrations!
All I need today is a little bit of coffee and a whole lot of Jesus!

Then we had to go over some housekeeping rules, introductions and "first day of school" announcements.  We shared the MOPS International video of "A Fierce Flourishing" that you can watch here:

Your fearless leader, Jenny Street, shared a testimony that she hopes inspired you in some way.  It is her prayer that this year all of us learn how to flourish, to celebrate lavishly, to embrace rest and notice goodness.
We, as moms, have some little ones depending on us and counting on us to come through for them. So, as moms, we need to make sure we are taking time for ourselves, that we're celebrating those little milestones (crawling, potty training, talking in full sentences) of our kids so that when we do embrace rest, we are resting in the fact that God is a God who loves and provides and gives grace abundantly.  We want to notice the goodness around us that is ever present, yet not always applauded. What are some good things you have noticed today?  How do you feel you find rest most often? Is there something in your home that needs to be celebrated?  (To answer the question below, pay attention here: Today, in our house we're celebrating my daughter's 10 month birthday!)

We also had a super fun and easy craft for this meeting!  Gina and Sarah made sure we all had enough beads and tassels for our necklaces.  I like that we were able to make something similar yet so original for ourselves.  So neat!

The team I get to work with this year is so stinking awesome!  I can't say enough wonderful things about them.  Thanks so much for all of your hard work and willingness to help out.  You are fabulous!
Most of the Leadership Team 2015-2016!  Love you ladies!
So, that's a bit of our first meeting.  If you didn't make it, we definitely missed you!  But we hope to see you October 1st at our next meeting.  The Orange and Teal tables will be providing breakfast for us.  We'll have a great guest speaker (a husband of one of our very own MOPS moms!) and news about some fun outings coming up.

Look forward to seeing you there!  Oh, and if you read this blog, tell me the answer to this question at the next meeting and I'll give you a surprise:  What did my family celebrate this week?

Blessings,

Jenny
