Traditions, Part Two

Each Christmas, I pick out a children's book about the Christmas story, write the kids' ages on the inside cover, and keep them on the fireplace. When we go through our advent calendar each morning (we got our advent calendar from Noel Piper at Desiring God and it's awesome!), we pick a book to read to reinforce what we just talked about with the advent calendar. Plus, when my children are grown, I will have books to pass down to them that they can read to their children about the meaning of Christmas. Christine Hoover

We make an ornament each year with our daughter's photo so we can see her grow over the years. Anna Pulliam

Need ideas for homemade photo ornaments? You could do a simple one like these, fancy 3-D ones like these, lovely ones like these (you can always count on Martha), or just buy a cute one from a super-crafty friend and personalize with your own photo.
