We did a cute craft at our MOPS meeting this time, but first some announcements!
- A weekly Prayer Group will be starting up on Wednesday, June 12th. This summer the focus will be on prayer journals. To that end, there will be a speaker at the first meeting to give you insights on starting and maintaining a prayer journal. Look for email in the future with more info, or contact Mere Curs.
- The Charlottesville Design House will be open May 4-19th. The Design House benefits the Shelter for Help in Emergency (SHE) which is the regional shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children. Volunteers are needed! If you are interested please contact Kelly Pedone.
- Don't forget to register for next year's MOPS! Click here for more information.
- At our next (and last) MOPS Meeting we will have gift bags for our childcare workers. If you would like to contribute something to your child's worker's bag please bring it to the next meeting.
- Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Park Street will be held the week
of July 8th. Children must be 4 years old by Sept. 30th, 2013 through
completed 7th grade to participate...unless you volunteer! The younger
children of volunteers are welcome to participate. Volunteering
requires one training session; click here for more information and to register.
- Volunteer opportunity! On Monday, May 13th several volunteers are
needed for babysitting duty for the moms in Young Lives from 6-8pm. We
are also looking for food donations for the Young Lives dinner that same
evening. Contact Marianne T. for more information.

Amber Y. |
At this MOPS meeting we were blessed to hear testimony from Amber Y. Amber talked to us about receiving a (literal) prescription for Jesus when she was at her lowest, and recently, how she has been relying on the Lord fully to provide for her baby daughter. What an absolutely amazing testimony Amber, and thank you so much for blessing us with it!
Next, our Craft Coordinator Laurie B. taught us how to make an adorable embellished clip board - a perfect gift for the teachers in your life. We used templates to cut scrapbook paper to the correct size. Then we attached the paper to the clipboard using mod-podge. A layer of mod-podge was applied lightly over the top of the paper, and once dry, we tied ribbons to the clip. Simple and cute!

Our May 9th MOPS meeting will be our last one until the fall. Hope to see everyone there!
